Tour de Cahaba 2025 – FAQ
Can I register Day Of?
Absolutely. We will have a quick and easy registration process that starts at 6 a.m. Cash, credit card, paypal or venmo is accepted.
Is there packet pick up?
Yes, you can pick up your wrist band and t-shirt the Saturday before at our Homewood location (1724 27th Court South) between 10AM - Noon. Or, the morning of starting at 6:00am.
Where Do I Park?
Plenty of parking is available at the SoHo Parking Deck, vacant lots, or on the street. Sunday mornings typically have ample street parking.
Are there route maps?
Yes! Strava and Ride with GPS routes are available for all distances. We recommend downloading the files to your phone or GPS device. Links below:
What time does it start?
7:00 am for 34, 45, and 65 mile riders. 9:00 am for Slow Roll, 10 Mile, and 20 Mile.
What if I need support on the course?
Call 205-335-5672 or 205-879-3244 for on-course support.
How much is the ride?
$35 for most distances. $10–$15 for Slow Roll. Non-Rider Food/Drink Wristband is $10. Pre-register by June 29th for a free t-shirt. Prices increase after June 29.
Is there pre-registration?
Yes. Online registration closes July 11 at midnight. After that, in-person registration opens at 6:00 am the day of the ride.
Is the route marked?
Yes, routes are marked with orange spray paint. Still, we recommend downloading the digital maps or picking up a cue sheet.
What is the average speed?
The ride is not a race. Expect varied groups and paces. 65-mile riders should maintain 13mph average.
What is the distance?
65, 45, 34, 20, 10 miles — plus a Slow Roll option of 3-5 miles.
Are there any cut-off times at the rest stops?
Yes. 65-mile riders must reach the Heights rest stop by 10:00 am to continue with support.
Is the route hilly?
Yes, we’re in the Appalachian foothills. Expect some climbing — but no mountains!
How do I get a free t-shirt?
Pre-register by June 29 to guarantee a free T-shirt. Extras may be available for $20 at the event.
Does Tour de Cahaba benefit anything?
Yes! $3 from each $35/45 registration goes to BUMP (Birmingham Urban Mountain Pedalers).
What is the slow roll ride?
A 3 to 5 mile (there is a peel-off point if little legs get tired!) family ride through Homewood with a popsicle stop. Led by a guide. Free to ride; $15 for lunch/t-shirt option.
Will there be support?
Yes — 3 SAG vehicles and rest stops at every Cahaba Cycles location. Self-serve water stop included.
Are there going to be rest stops?
Yes. Every Cahaba location is a rest stop. Plus one self-serve water station.
What is going on after the ride?
After-party at the Homewood store: BBQ, beer, veggie pizza, music, fans, shade, and fun.
Will there be bottled water?
No. Help us reduce plastic use. Refill your bottles at our water stations.
Will the roads be closed?
No, but we’ve picked safe, low-traffic routes. SAG support and intersection corking will assist riders.
How many participants are there?
700–800 riders expected.
Will the stores be open at each rest stop?
Yes, all Cahaba stores will be open.
What if it’s raining?
The ride happens rain or shine. We may delay the start, but no refunds.
